Last time we checked (as in a few minutes ago on the UK, US and German sites), the S5 Coupe continues to use Audi's venerable 4.2-liter V8 with 354HP, while the S5 Convertible comes with a 333HP 3.0-liter supercharged V6. Nevertheless, APS, the UK-based importer of the Swiss tuning brand Sportec, has released a performance upgrade for the S5 Coupe and Convertible with the... 3.0 TSI V6.In any case, labeled "Stage One", the Swiss tuner's performance package for Audi's 3.0 TSI V6 consists of a free flowing air filter element and an ECU remap. While it doesn't sound like much, it manages to squeeze another 97-horsepower out of the S5's (convertible) 3.0-liter V6 unit, boosting total output from 328 bhp and 440 Nm (325 lb.ft) to an RS5-rivaling 425 bhp at 6,640 rpm and 520 Nm (379 lb.ft) at 4,250 rpm.Sportec says the upgrade trims 0-62mph (100km/h) acceleration by 0.5 seconds to 4.6 seconds (same as RS5 Coupe) while top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph (250km/h).The Stage One upgrade is available now in the UK from APS Sportec priced at £1,950 fitted including VAT.

Here are some spy shots of Audi's next-generation A6, which is scheduled for launch next year. While it's still pretty well wrapped up in swirls, we can assume that the car will essentially be and a less-"designer" A7 Sportback with a trunk; the student has become the master (and quickly!). Since we already know what the A7 will look like, it doesn't take much imagination to see where the A6 will go from there.
The stylish A7 does a damn fine job of being a 4-door, 4-seat coupe while also being a hatchback (and embarrassing BMW's 5GT), which leads me to believe that the next A6 will be a nice-looking 5-seat evolution of Audi's large mid-sizer.The engine lineup will include the usual suspects, trickling down from the CLS-killer A7 and up from the A4: a 204-horse 2.8 FSI as a base gasoline V6, a supercharged 300-horsepower 3.0TFSI as the sporty gasoline V6, and two 3.0 liter V6 TDIs. Smaller, more efficient engines will be available as well (depending on the market of course), including turbocharged diesel and gasoline 2.0-liter inline-4s, and even a hybrid.Quattro and FWD will be available across the range, as well as a 6-speed manual, 7-speed S Tronic (DSG), or 8-speed automatic transmission depending on engine choice.A top-line S6 is rumored to bring some form of big-power V8. Lastly, the madman RS6 will no doubt be built by quattro somewhere down the line to take on the M5 and AMG's E. From what we've heard, chances are Audi will drop the current V10 unit in favor of a smaller, lighter, and greener but equally, if not even more powerful, force-fed V8.By Phil Alex

In one of its more 'lighter' tuning proposals, MTM has released details on its new line of performance upgrades for the Audi RS5 coupe. Instead of fiddling around with the RS5's 450HP V8 engine to increase the car's top speed, the German tuning simply reprograms the factory electronic speed limiter of 250km/h or 280 km/h, allowing the coupe to reach a maximum velocity of 303 km/h or 188mph. The cost for the removal of the speed limiter is a hefty €1,499 or a little over US$1,900 at today's exchange rates.MTM's program also includes a stainless steel sports exhaust system with throttle valves for €2,998 (US$3,850) and nine-spoke alloy rims, which are available in sizes 19", 20" and 21", with prices starting from €2,249 (US$2890). According to the tuner, an individually adjustable spring-kit is in development and will be offered later this year.

Senner Tuning, which recently tuned Audi's little diesel A1, has opted to showcase some of their A5 products in this gorgeous, 'chocolate' A5 Cabrio. The car receives some new intake and ECU tuning to bring the turbocharged 2.0-liter's output to 275 horsepower and 430 Nm / 317 lb-ft of torque, while a Senner stainless steel exhaust system is there for aural pleasure and to get rid of those exhaust fumes. The car rides on KW's Inox coilovers, which slam it down hard on those 20-inch Varianza TIS alloys. As you can see, the body gets an RS-style nose, tail, and mirrors, which only make a great-looking car even greater. Personally, I'd love to see the rear bumper insert in carbon fiber, but that would add to the already exorbitant price. All told, the package seen here can be had for a hair under €20,000. While I'd pass on spending that much on such run-of-the-mill modifications, that shade of chocolaty goodness is definitely something to consider if picking a custom color for an Audi.By Phil Alex
